GAYS - THE GREATEST THREAT TO BIBLICAL CULTURE

(Lev 19:15 NKJV) 'You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor.

On Friday 11 Jan 2008, in TULSA, Oklahama. in a further fall out, Pastor Benny Hinn and Pastor I.V. Hilliard resigned as regents at Oral Roberts University, as the debt-ridden school tries to regroup following a spending scandal involving its former president Rev Richard Roberts. The resignations come a month after the resignations from the board of regents of two other famous televangelists, Rev Jesse Duplantis and Rev Creflo Dollar. Rev Hinn and Rev Dollar are among six televangelists being investigated for violating their organizations' tax-exempt status by living lavishly. Whilst they are being investigated, the televangelists continue to visit Singapore with thousands in attendance in their services with calls for funds and promises of blessings for big donations. Although we deny it, we practically "worship" these Pastors and consider what they say as gospel even though they may be unsound and immoral. Whilst claiming to be biblical Christians, we are seldom reflective and leave the interpretation to the likes of the Pastor Kong and others. We are biblical only when we interpret the bible correctly and apply it consistently and not just because the Anglican and Methodist Bishops proclaim so. For many, the "biblical" culture that has been displayed by the church is one of the culture of prosperity, self righteousness and hypocrisy.

We hear no fall-out in Singapore for the investigations in America, no public statements, and rebuke despite the televangelists being unrepentant and remained living in "sin". Yet, loving relationships between Gay men and Woman are considered at best inferior and at worst, immoral, even though it can be for all purposes the same as a heterosexual relationship based on love, commitment, and mutual support. The bible mention of Homosexual acts are never in the context of loving relationship but rather unnatural acts performed by straight men going against the very grain of their nature either to please the gods that they worship or to subjugate other men into submission (to humble them!). Raping another men is equivalent to making a clear statement that they are but the inferior women. When we define family as long term commitment relationships based on a covenant before man and god, Christianity can be considered as "anti-family" when we are so determined to destroy loving gay relationships.

For Satan, the very small gay community is but collateral damage to be used in the war against the church. The Gay community is used as an entrapment to stumble the church to commit sin against man and God. Consider a sexy women walking alone at night at the alley ways and was raped by a man. In some countries, the perpetrator will be let free as the women (as in bible) is considered inferior, and the women canned for not being accompanied by a man. We have the same situation here where the church has aggressively condemned, persecute and suppressed the gay community whilst claiming a moral high ground of defending the faith and family. Ultimately, the Christian faith is undermined as being unjust and immoral, and God is blamed for the cruelest twist of creating some as gays for the purpose of being persecuted by His church. We blasphemed the perception of God amongst the nations and the gay community to the extent that the bible is considered as folk law and not of divine inspiration of the Messiah, the way to God. Although unspoken, we also come against the God the creator when we condemn His creation of the gay people.

A heterosexual person will unlikely be asked to choose between their sexual orientation and Jesus Christ. However, the churches have done that and gays are hidden or when they are outed will be excommunicated from the church. We have reduced the entire bible which talks about Jesus, from the insufficiency of the Law for salvation, to the coming of Christ, His death, and His resurrection, to sexual orientation. Those who remained in the mainstream churches have kept an appearance by making the unnatural decision for them to go into marriage and have children. It is sin when we make unnatural decisions because we will up end sinning by involving in extra-marital affairs with men. When it is found out, the marriage will be ruined and cause the faith of many to be stumbled. The Gay men would have their lives ruined by "religion" and bear such a bitterness and hatred against the church to become its antagonist. The church may claim a high moral ground when the Rev Ted Haggard fell, but in reality they were the main culprit. Natural justice cries out for judgment against the church for the lives destroyed.

(Lev 19:4 NKJV) 'Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am the LORD your God.

There is a grave silence on the church acceptance of the unnatural order whilst trumpeting that gay relationships are unnatural. The bible has a natural order - of God and Man and Woman and Animals. Therefore, it is unnatural for man to worship gods created or molded by their hands. Man is created in the image of god, but man is so eager to create gods in our image and giving the saints and the religious leaders "god like" powers and reverence due naturally to God. We deemed creation as unscientific but on the matters of worshipping man made idols, we proclaim that these are all valid pathways to god differing only in their form. We make no comments on other religions because they are just far too strong politically whilst gays who are weak we condemn with no remorse.

(Judg 19:24 NKJV) "Look, here is my virgin daughter and the man's concubine; let me bring them out now. Humble them, and do with them as you please; but to this man do not do such a vile thing!"

There is a grave fallacy that the church is somehow under attack by the culture of the world versus the biblical culture. The biblical narration itself was told relative to the culture of the Jewish/ Abrahamic world. There is no such thing as a biblical culture. For example, although it was not God's intent that women are considered of a lower order than men, but the bible was written based on this culture and therefore it is considered "gospel" by some Christians. Therefore, it is permissible for the men to have an "open" relationship with many partners by just having many wives as properties. Strictly, the man may be allowed to have divorced but not the woman, and woman are supposed to be in lock and key to keep the houses and raise kids and when in public to put on the veil as not to entice men. The modern day church has inadvertently worshiped the ancient Jewish/ Abrahamic culture and not Jesus Christ.

Gays are the greatest treat to the biblical culture of putting woman naturally below man. So we now do not have an inferior sex. When men have sex with men, does the bottom becomes "women" and hence inferior? Naturally, no men would willingly put himself to the position of a women. Therefore, based on the cultures of the people in the bible, gays are distorting the natural order of things even though the Jews themselves worshiped man made idols, and even to the extent of have "unnatural" sex on account of worshiping idols. As gay men distorts the culture of the supremacy of man over woman, we see laws specifically banning man having sex with man but very few laws involving lesbianism. Christians argued for 377a on the basis of morality but the roots is embedded in history because of culture. When we deemed a specific culture to be "biblical" and God instructed, we undermine our Christian faith based on the revelation of Christ and put it on par with culture. We give others the right to claim that other religions which are usually integrated with their culture are equivalent ways to god for what makes the ancient Jewish Abrahamic culture greater than any other culture? In other cultures such as the Chinese or Japanese, you would not find gay sex illegal.

(Prov 22:16 NKJV) He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches, And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty.

We return to the Televangelist of old. Investigations on the 6 big times are not new. In the 70s, 80s and 90s, when donations dried up due to financial corruptions, they had resorted to using the gay threat as the wiping boys building great empires and universities out of the fears of many. The gay community has suffered and been greatly oppressed. Many have died through AIDS and other diseases or have committed suicide or murdered by those who claimed to be morally superiority. There is a time coming when the church will become poorer despite the "old wealth" and assets and massive cathedrals, and educational institutions. For the wealth gain has been on blood money and God will not honor it. We may not have the poverty of wealth, but the poverty of the Holy Spirit we will have for the Spirit of God can never be forced to do our will nor will sanction our self righteousness and oppression against the weak who cannot fight back. The Catholics promised eternal redemption through big donations, so too our modern day televangelists promised great blessings and wealth in return. We do need a new reformation of God love, grace and mercy centered on Jesus and not on a biblical culture to fill this nation. When Jesus came, and the conservative culture of the majority did not received Him. Let us not take on this culture and call it biblical or Christian.
