CHRISTIAN JUDGEMENT ON GAYS

UNRIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT: The Gay Christian Community is a subject of increasing judgement by the Christian Churches in Singapore. For example, the Anglican Church have on numerous occasions labeled Homosexuality as incompatible with the Scriptures. The extent of condemnation have meant that Gay Christians are simply not welcome, made isolated, and condemed as sinners. They are made to feel dirty, unloved by God, rejected by God.

What does the bible say?. Matthew 7 does not say that we cannot judge, but rather it is wise not to judge quickly unless we have all the facts and willing to be judged likewise. Why, because Judgement opens us up to being measured by God in the same manner as we use to judge others. Jesus said that if we judge ourselves similarly, we will see that our faults are far worst than what we condemed in others.

(Mat 7:1 NKJV) "Judge not, that you be not judged.
(Mat 7:2 NKJV) "For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
(Mat 7:3 NKJV) "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

This is true in the case of the Anglican Church of England, who apparently put on a show of moral superiority by rejecting Gays despite the position in the scripture is unclear at best on this issue. Even if it is clear, one must not forget that the soon and coming King Charles will be married to a divorcee, a clear violation of biblical principals. This is not the first , nor will be the last. The Church of England is itself founded upon infidelity of King Henry the Eight. Henry, determined to provide a male heir to the throne, decided to divorce Katharine and marry Anne Boleyn. English diplomacy became a series of maneuvers to win the approval of Pope Clement VII. The pope refused to give way on the divorce issue. In AD 1534 the separation with Rome was completed by the Act of Supremacy, which made the King Henry head of the Church of England. What a big plank?.

The action by the Anglican Church supported by the Church in Singapore, has caused significant damage to the Christian Gays. They have tried to be good Christians. They have endeavoured to live as normal straight relatiohsips but many a times have failed. They know deep inside that they are Homosexuals just like Heterosexuals know that they are thus. It is not a choice for no one take a vow of hardship with no apparent gain. Being a Gay Christian would result in ridicule, judgement, condemnation, loneliness and persecution.

Certainly, Jesus would be able to identify himself with the heartfelt feelings of the Singaporean Gay Christians. For Jesus himself was subject incredible judgement by the same hypocrtical standards by the religious leaders of His day. He did not have good words to say about such religious establishments calling them Hypocrites and Dogs:-

(Mat 7:5 NKJV) "Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
(Mat 7:6 NKJV) "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

Jesus will come back again and will judge this world, for He alone is worthy to judge. The Bible said

(2 Cor 5:10 NKJV) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
(2 Cor 5:11 NKJV) Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.

There will be a judgement seat of Christ and knowing that no one will escape the terror of the Lord of being sent to Hell which is a terrible place of eternal suffering, our job is to persuade men to repent and believe in Jesus. But Gay Christians have no fear for we are known to God. In fact, our lives and our deeds are past judgement because that part of our old life is dead.

(2 Cor 5:14 NKJV) For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died;
(2 Cor 5:17 NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Just as Jesus who knew no sin, became sin for us, so likewise, we who knew sin became totally sinless. It is an exchange that we receive the righteousness of God, a new creation. At the Cross of Calvary, our judgement fell upon Jesus already. When He died, we too died.

Many preachers taught wrongly that our faith will lead to good works and these works will be judged by God where we will receive our inheritance. As shown above, we have already been judged at calvary. Secondly, it is not by our faith that leads to good works, but rather it is understanding God's love for us that will lead us to love others.

(1 John 4:19 NRSV) We love because he first loved us.

Knowing now the love of Christ, and now a new creation being imputed God's righteousness, what is our purpose in life?. We are called to be ambassodors of Christ for the Gay community in Singapore:-

(2 Cor 5:20 NKJV) Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.

What does God want Gay Christians to do in response to the overwhelming opposition before us.

(Isa 40:3 NKJV) The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God.

We need to cry out, to declare strongly our voices in the midst of the desert we are now in, that God is good, that God is for Gays and does not despise them nor considers homosexuality a sin. Unlike John the baptist (Isa 40:3), God has already created the highway in our desert. The highway is Jesus. It is a highway of righteouness, not ours, but Jesus's. As Christian Gays, we need to make our voices heard, and Gays will flock onto the highway. Why? Gays are hungry and thristy, for theirs is a desert of condemnation, from Self, to Family, to friends, to Society, to religion, to Government. They thrist for acceptance to know that God loves them unconditionally. The 'way of the Lord' appears so difficult for Gays. The Churches have made it full of conditions that they need to be straight !!!!. We have to declare louder than the Church for many thousands of lives is at stake.

We are champions for Jesus and not for the Gay community. We are not Gay activist for we do not openly promote gay rights. But we are uncomprisingly, activist for Jesus. What do we declare? We cry out to the Gays in Singapore that:-

Jesus accepts them - Jesus created them as Gays. He created them wonderfully and wants each Gay person to embrace and accept themselves that they can be a blessing.
Jesus loves them - He died and rose again to pay for their sins, so that they can come onto the Highway of Salvation if they accept him.
Jesus is their peace. He understands their pains, and sufferings. He will defend Gays and protect them. They can rest in Jesus, their rock.

In order to be a voice, we need to experience God. It is this intimate walk with God, daily though our quiet time, daily though our bible studies, daily through worshiping God, daily through prayer, that we know God's love for us and for the Gay Communiity, and through the Holy Spirit have a ready answer based on the Bible of what and why we believe thus. We are not to be tossed about like waves, but our position and stand is to be built on Jesus, our rock. It is a high calling and a very rare calling. How many Gay Christians in Singapore have an intimate walk with God, so full of the Holy Spirit, and an unshakable biblical foundation, that they may stand as equals amongst the greatest man of God in the main stream churches in Asia. We need to? For God has called us to minister to Gays, and how can they hear the good news of the Gospel when nobody talks to them about it, when all they hear from the main stream churches is that their central identity as gays which they have no choice to decide is a sin.

Faced with seemingly unmovable mountains both internally due to the pre-conceived ideas by Gays against Christianity, and external opposition from mainstream christianity and from society, even the best preacher will not succeed. What we faced is much more than what most other churches in Singapore will ever faced. Our numbers are small, the task is great, there are not many precedence. Therefore, Above all things, we need the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, the guidance and annointing to preach to Gospel with authority, wisdom, and power to proclaim liberty and healing to Gays:-

(Luke 4:18 NKJV) "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

Father God, build up and strengtened the Gay Christian community in Singapore. May it be a light unto salvation for the thousands of gays in Singapore, Raise up mighty men of God who loves you that they may raise up a banner declaring your love for Gays, a banner that could not be pulled down by mainstream Christianity, a banner of Hope for the forsaken. Do not forsake us Father God, hear our cry today because of Jesus. But most of all, send us and fill us with your Holy Spirit that we may be your ambassadors of Grace.

Not by Might, nor by Power
But by my Spirit says the Lord

Not by Might, nor by Power
But by my Spirit says the Lord

This mountain shall be removed
This mountain shall be removed
This mountain shall be removed

By my Spirit, says the Lord
